Forcemaxx - Good news! Lately, Disney executive Meredith Roberts shares a surprising update on Gravity Falls, eight years after the series finale. Created by Alex Hirsch, the 2012 animated show was centered around Dipper and Mabel Pines, young twins who explored the mysterious town of Gravity Falls, Oregon and assisted their great-uncle Stan.
Along with Hirsch, who portrayed Stan and other characters, the voice cast of Gravity Falls included Jason Ritter, Kristen Schaal, Linda Cardellini, and J.K. Simmons. Despite a large fanbase on Disney Channel, the series ended prematurely after season 2.

Gravity Falls's New Season
In a recent interview with The Direct, Roberts gave an update about the future of Gravity Falls. The Executive Vice President of Television Animation and Disney Branded Television revealed that the studio has talked with Hirsch about a potential return. Read her comments below:
"You know, we're in conversations with Alex. He's about to publish a book with Disney on his project. And we also do some shorts. So never say never."
If Hirsch remains invested in the fictional setting and develops a scenario that reunites the characters, Gravity Falls could successfully be brought back to Disney Channel or Disney+.
Hirsch previously revealed that it was a conscious decision to complete Gravity Falls earlier than most television shows. Because of that, the finale, "Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back the Falls," resolved its various storylines, while Dipper and Mabel also returned home to California.
Apparently, the creator continues to write about Gravity Falls, and Roberts' comments suggest that a revival could happen. Disney Channel programs generally wrap after four seasons, or 65 episodes, depending on the year.
